teeth captured his bottom lip, cheeks rouging as he met the gaze of the blonde, nerves rising. he tried to think of something other than the feeling of her lips against his but, it was proving difficult. especially when she looked so breathtaking. with his gaze focused on hers, he saw her eyes moved over him, taking in the sight of him all suited and booted. if his cheeks could darken, they did. fingers kept toying with the tip of his tie, something to keep his hands and mind focused on something other than the blonde. as she twirled, showing him the full look, lucas exhaled deeply, brows raising. Lizzie smiled as she heard the males voice, the familiar sound of it took her back to a few days ago when she kissed a stranger under the mistletoe. ''That's one way to put it, anyone who's able to pull this off either has too much time on their hands, too much money or both.'' she shrugged, her eyes looking him up and down. He looked very handsome all scrubbed up in his suit. A smile lacing her lips as he spoke, somehow his words made her nervous and she was unsure why she didn't like the feeling it was odd. ''Thank you..it was my mothers. I decided to pull it out of the woodworks for this evening.'' she gave him a little twirl. ''I'm glad you like it- you don't look too bad yourself in your suit.'' she paused for a moment thinking before holding her hand out. ''Can you dance? Lets dance?''

Jay was born (well he doesn't know) all he knows was that he ended up in a baby box at the fire station. With nothing but a blanket wrapped around him with the letter 'J' on it. He went from foster home to foster home for the early years of his life. Never having a home or having a place that he was wanted.

He was 8 years old when he was sent to yet another foster home, and this time he ended up in New Orleans. It was only meant to be for a week before he was sent off somewhere else, but that was when he met them, Josh and Aiden, at a crescent party.

It wasn't so much that he spoke to them but that they learnt about him and next thing he knew, the couple said they would foster him next. He lived with them for 3 years as their foster child, expecting to be moved on at anytime, even though they said they wanted to keep him.

He was sure it was going to happen when they started talking about kids and adopted another child (blossom) that he knew he was about to be kicked out; instead they sat him down and said they wanted to adopt him. Completely. For him to be their son. Forever. Paperwork was completed and not only did he get a home that day, but he got a last name and a new sister.

From there, Jay was supported to follow his dream to be a doctor with the support from his dads; he raised that dream was possible for the first time in his life.

During his studies to become a doctor, he met Lizzie Saltzman and she changed his life, getting him out into the world and slowly he fell for her, not expecting her to return his feelings. Until one day, she did. The two were an official couple for 2 old years as the merge got closer and closer. Jay proposed on their 2 year anniversary , mostly because he loved her, a little because he wanted her to fight for their future and not just give up; but mostly because if the worst did happen at least he knew he had been engaged to the best person he knew.

Then she died, 3 years ago, Jay doesn't say it, but in the back of his mind, he calls it what it was... murder. Josie killed her. And his life was changed completely by that night.

Turning into a heretic has been the best thing for Lizzie. Though the circumstance of her change wasn't the best, she really feels like everything fell into place.

Though she still has her moments, she's not as insecure and fragile as she used to be. She's had a lot of personal growth.

She's very protective of her friends and her family - will go to the ends of the Earth for them.

While she's had a lot of personal growth, letting go of control is still hard for her.

She's very organized and likes to have things planned out ahead of time, she gets a little anxious when something isn't planned, or things go off the planned path.

When things started to settle down after the earthquake and the university was built, Lizzie decided to further her education. She was unsure of what it was she wanted to do with her future, but with the options limited since the barrier was up - Lizzie got her business degree with the intentions of an event planning company in mind.

She graduated college with a masters degree and a business degree.

While Lizzie will always have a love for Mystic Falls, her plan was to not be here forever. She wanted to get out and see the world.

She's a pretty big advocate for taking the barrier down. She doesn't like "hiding" from the fight instead of facing it. She's very much in the mindset of "we defeated a God, we can defeat whatever else." Could be a good thing, could be a bad thing.

Though they're not related, Lizzie and Hope have continued to become extremely close that they don't even call each other best friends anymore, they call each other sisters.

Lizzie is bisexual, and came out about it very casually in conversation.

Over the years, Lizzie has had several exes and hookups but has not started a family of her own.

Recently, she was casually seeing Romeo until he up and disappeared. She has had many thoughts on that and only really ever opened up to Hope about them over some wine and a girls night.

While she loves her family, she also loves her space. After college, Lizzie acquired a cute little apartment at the Mystic Grill Apartments.

She has put her business degree to action and has her own event planning company - Mystical Events only name I can think of right now lol . Her company is very often used for towns events.

it had been a while since lucas had felt as though he was losing control, but with the ever increasing reports of animal attacks, he was becoming more and more on edge. so, today was the day he finally lost it. panic wracked his entire body, his nerves were shot and he could barely contain his emotions, nor the signs of the wolf. fingers flexed, breath was haggard and his heartbeat rang in his ears. sweat settled on his brow, his chest aching as he tried to catch his breath. a small part of his training rang true in his mind, for only a split second. then, lucas was reaching out for the blonde's hand, needing something to ground himself. two fingers pressed to her wrist, eyes squeezing tightly shut as he began to count the beats of lizzie's heart. eyes flicked open for a moment, revealing golden hues to her, before he quickly shut them again, his grasp on her wrist tightening a little.

She knew what it felt like to feel helpless, and in such a moment, it felt like the end of the world. She was accustomed to such a feeling, but yet, knowing her niece was feeling this way caused her to feel rage like no other. Gently, she took her face in her hand, reaching into her bag for the packet of tissues, wiping the tears off her nieces face. "Talk to me , what's happened?" She pled, eyes searching hers.

The idea of someone from the future, not only someone, but her niece, was able to remain in this current time without consequence, concerned her greatly. However, as time passed, and she was able to process it further, she began to realise her return was likely part of such consequence. Hearing the other, Liv's facial expressions softened, moving to sit by her side, a hand moving to her shoulder. "I understand , well -- partly." She smiled weakly, with a shake of her head. ༶ lizzie and josie saltzman were raised by caroline forbes and alaric saltzman. the two often clashed on how to raise the twins, but caroline swore they needed would do better than her parents had, raising the girls with truth and transparency — as a result, once the girls were deemed old enough, they were taught the story of josette laughlin and the parker family. as it is a part of their heritage, they were also introduced to the merge. thus began the ticking clock : the countdown to death.

༶ lizzie began first showing signs of mental instability around the age of 5; this worsened over time, eventually hitting its peak when she was 9 years old. however, lizzie would not receive a proper diagnosis until she was 11 years old, shortly after her first suicide attempt. disharmony in the saltzman - forbes family begins to grow; caroline forbes takes off in search of antiquate help for her supernatural daughter and a way to "stop" the merge. the twins are left in the care of their father at the salvatore school.

༶ between the two, lizzie has always been closer to her mother than her father. this only grows as she ages and begins to feel neglected and outcasted. her mind, ever her own worst enemy, begins to form the belief that she represents what he hates the most. a physical embodiment of the parker family, while josie herself is more closely aligned with that of alaric himself - more human and harmonious, more stable. this is further vindicated as alaric begins to take more and more time up with hope mikaelson [note: lizzie is unaware of most of the events surrounding hope's life and own history] ; she views her father's neglect and addiction as a result of her own existence, blaming herself. this is similar to how she views caroline's absence, believing she is also the reason her mother left. she resigns herself to being : too much, too loud, requiring too much work and time. she begins overcompensating for her mental disorder, growing colder and more distant. she starts unfairly relying on josie more and more — a crippling co - dependency forms.

༶ in time, the relationship between alaric and lizzie begins to deteriorate. however, it is not until s02 - shortly after the truth about alaric's involvement with banishing students to the prison world as punishment + memory wiping, and his own excusal for josie's actions during her dark [magic] phase that things take a turn for the worst. believing her father would never show her the same loyalty he offers josie : the better sister, the healthy one, THE ONE WORTH SAVING. lizzie begins to fear what her father would do to her should she ever lose the battle against her mental health and impulses. while not necessarily true, lizzie has never voiced these concerns to her father (or anyone for that matter) to be proven otherwise, and instead simmered in her own paranoia. thus, she feared for the future, believing herself unable to trust and rely on her father. in an attempt to leave before she could be left — she grew estranged from him, cutting off contact that was not absolutely necessary due to their close proximity at the school + supernatural threats.

༶ estrangement continues with the two primarily interacting through other people, namely mg, kaleb, and hope. by the time season 04 comes around, lizzie has refused all attempts by alaric to patch things up. they are not speaking. this is still the case when alaric is attacked by hope mikaelson shortly after her transition when her humanity is off, sending him into a coma. it is during this coma that something inside lizzie breaks, overcome with immense guilt, a fact that is only worsened when alaric eventually succumbs to his injuries : dying. unable to live with herself for the way they left things, lizzie sets out on the road to revenge, determined to make hope mikaelson pay. [*this is heavily intertwined with that of daisy's portrayal of hope mikaelson]

༶ this revenge quest leads lizzie to cross paths with the ancient vampire, aurora de martel. aurora is a benefactor to a small subsection of triad industries and one of the last remaining elements of the former organization. she is also heavily connected to the original family and on something of a revenge quest herself against the deceased klaus mikaelson + his family. together, the two team up with the desire to take down the tribrid. during this time together, the two form a complicated but deep bond, with lizzie and aurora seeing much of themselves in one another.

༶ during this time, lizzie faces off against hope. this ends in the latter snapping lizzie's neck, effectively killing her. unbeknownst to hope at the time, lizzie had ingested vampire blood from the school's emergency stash prior and transitioned. unbeknownst to both of them, this blood belonged to none other than hope herself, resulting in lizzie being sired to the tribrid. this is not a bond that goes on to be broken by lizzie; the action itself is not that easy, nor something lizzie even has an interest in doing down the line. instead, the sire bond remains intact. however, it is essential to note that this bond has nothing to do with romantic love but rather gratitude. lizzie, even in her grief, is overwhelmingly gracious to hope from saving her and josie from the merge. *vampirism has always been an option in the back of lizzie's mind, a failsafe, if you will. ༶ the bond between aurora and lizzie is bond eventually shattered when lizzie finds herself overcome with the sudden life shift, grief, and even more complicated feelings for hope, lizzie decides to change paths. giving up her quest for revenge, she returns to the school and rejoins her friends, where she pledges her loyalty to them in going up against triad — of which they eventually succeed in doing, but only with hope by their side once more.

༶ in the years following, lizzie attempts to grow more accustomed to her new status as a heretic, along with bettering her mental health. she ultimately patches things up with hope, josie, and comes to terms with how things ended between her and alaric. caroline returns to take over the school as full - time headmistress. lizzie graduates from the salvatore school before going to uva where she majors in psychology.

༶ a majority of lizzie's future involves traveling and attempts to find herself beyond the existence of another + the shadow's of hope and josie looming over her. she grows a lot as a person, and eventually settles down in new orleans to be closer to hope mikaelson, rafael waithe, and landon kirby. she gains a particular interest in helping supernatural children, primarily in terms of mental health and eventually takes on a role as a consoler at the newly formed mikaelson school, an extension of the salvatore school.
